My Gallery...✨️😍

Hello Everyone....

Welcome back to my blog

I like to go and visit beautiful places and like photography.  As soon as I see a beautiful place, item, person or occasion, I take photos of them.  I really really  love it.  Here are the memorable pictures I took that way.

 Trincomalee

I love looking at the sea in the evening with the sea breeze and the sun setting. At that time the heart feels a very strange feeling. Among the beaches located in Sri Lanka, Trincomalee beach is extremely beautiful.

Trincomalee, popularly referred to as “Trinco”, is a home to and uninterrupted stretch of beautiful beach with unsplit white sandy beaches and clear blue waters, that runs for almost 30 kilometers, known as Uppuweli, Nilaweli and Kuchchaweli beaches.

Famous for its deep, Sapphire blue harbor. it's powdery beaches and charming Hindu culture, Trincomalee has always been one of Sri Lanka 's most captivating destinations. Located along the far-flung northeastern coast of Sri Lanka. It is easy to reach from the cultural triangle and can be accessed via air from a handful of locations in Sri Lanka.

Duwili Ella

Duwili Ella is situated in Thanjantenna village in the Ratnapura district. It is 40 meters in height and is also called “Walawe Ganga East Falls”. The name “Duwili” means dust in Sinhala which depicts the water spray emanating from the waterfall. The waterfall is situated about 4 km away from the nearest town of Balangoda.

It is a beautiful waterfall away from the usual crowd of locals and tourists. The waterfall plunges several meters on to a beautiful river. The water level goes up fast at Duwili Ella, so it is dangerous to bathe here. The route to Duwili Ella waterfall is a scenic one with amazing surrounding views.

From Belihuloya travel along the Colombo – Batticaloa Highway and then along the Kaltota Road passing Balangoda and Kahatapitiya up to Kaltota. Then Turn to Duwili Ella Road to reach the Duwili Ella waterfall.

Kande Viharaya

This is a major Buddhist temple in Kalutara District, Sri Lanka. The temple has got its name 'Kande vihara' (Mountain temple) as it is built on top of a hill located near to Aluthgama town. The temple has been formally recognised by the Government as an archaeological site in Sri Lanka.

The temple was founded by Karapagala Dewamitta Thero in 1734, under the guidance of Udugama Chandrasara thero who was then chief incumbent of Galapatha Raja Maha Vihara and a pupil of Weliwita Sri Saranankara Thero. Since then, the temple was renovated and developed time to time under state patronage that led the temple to become a major Buddhist shrine in the country. In 1904 the Kshethrarama Pirivena, an educational institution for monks, was attached to the temple because of the efforts done by Hikkaduwe Sri Sumangala Thero. The pirivena acts as a centre for Buddhist education in the country, is also conducted by the Kande Vihara.

In 2002, a foundation stone for a gigantic Samadhi Buddha statue depicting the Bhoomisparsha Mudra was laid in the temple premises and the completed statue was open to the public in 2007, making the temple more popular among the local devotees. The statue is 48.8 m (160 ft) in height and considered as one of tallest sitting Buddha statues in the world.

The temple comprises the Stupa, Bodhi Tree, Relic Chamber, Image House, Upulvan Devalaya and the other main Devalas including Kataragama and Pattini Devalaya. Bodhi Tree, preaching hall and the Seema Malaka are situated outside the Vihara premises. The Stupa has been built in bell shape and erected within an octagonal Shelter.

Colourful Night

This place is a River’s Edge Hotel in Madampe, Ambalangoda, Sri Lanka. I think it is a four-star hotel in Ambalangoda area. This hotel near to the lake side and beach side both. Akurala beach is very Clouse to this hotel.

This place is very clause to me because it was an unforgettable day. This hotel like a paradise on that day. There was a wedding I participated whom my best friend’s akka. On that day there were lot of fresh flowers all around the hotel. And very colourful lights are hanging around this place.

Beauty of Nature

Sri Lanka is a perfect place with natural beauty. Sri Lanka’s location, climate, weather, and culture have a made it a tourist destination of the world. The surrounding environment looks very beautiful in spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

The environment around us is full of green colour. The trees that have grown beautifully on both side of the road give a sense of comfort to the mind.

Karandeniya Galagoda Shailathalarama Viharaya

The road goes up the hill through cinnamon plantations to arrive at the Karandeniya Galagoda Shailathalarama Viharaya, which houses the largest reclining Buddha statue in South Asia. Three hundred feet above sea level, the view from this point is a grand vista of the countryside sprawling below.

Inside the hall of the temple lies a gigantic statue – 115 feet or 35 meters in length (the famous reclining Buddha statue of Gal Vihara fame of Polonnaruwa is 46 feet or 14 meters). This statue seems to be made of cement but is supposed to be about 800 years old, belonging to the Dambadeniya period in history, in the reign of King Parakramabahu II.

Ven. Magala Somananda Thera, chief incumbent of the temple says he believes the Buddha statue had been one of the tasks undertaken in that period. He says it would have been done by Devapathiraja, the prominent chief minister of the King. This minister had been responsible for the construction of many temples down by the coast.

Ven. Somananda Thera had come to this temple on the hill six years ago when it was an abandoned shrine, overgrown with jungle. There was jungle all around with wild cinnamon aplenty. The entire hall with the statue had been infested with bats hanging from the ceiling. They had dirtied the statue which was black with bat droppings. The place also had a terrible stench. The Thera had got the statue washed and cleaned and had the bats chased away.

He also arranged for a road to be constructed up the hill and got it tarred. Before this, villagers would come by bus and climb up 208 steps to reach the temple. The steps can still be used by those who don’t come in a vehicle and the ascent begins from Karandeniya.

Cute cat

Cats have a special place in my heart, making them my favourite pets. Their unique combination of independence and affection, along with their charming personalities, has endeared them to me. I will explore the reasons why cats hold a special place in my life and why they are, in my opinion, the most wonderful companions one could have.

A cat can both calm your nervous system and provide an immediate outlet for fun and play. Although cats are independent animals who like to scavenge and explore on their own terms, they are also very affectionate with their owners and people they trust.

Most cats love to curl up in your lap at the end of a long day while you watch television or read a book. The simplicity of this act can cause an automatic release of all the right kinds of chemicals to your brain, allowing you to ease into the evening without the weight of the world on your shoulders. Any cat owner will tell you just how much their furry friend helps them to relax and unwind. While many people enjoy the company of dogs, a cat can be more of an acquired taste—but once acquired, it’s a hard taste to lose.

The versatility of cat ownership is one reason why so many people enjoy feline companionship. Cats make great pets whether you live in a big house or tiny apartment, and they provide all the fun and play of larger animal companions.

Ruwanweli Maha Seya

If you ask where I like the most not only in Sri Lanka, but in the whole world, I will say Anuradhapura Ruwanweli Maha Seya. I do not know why but I respect and love that place.

The Ruwanweliseya is sited in the Ancient Sinhala capital of Anuradhapura in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka. It was built by King Dutugamunu (137 BC – 119 BC) and completed by his younger brother, King Saddhatissa, after his death. The Ruwanweliseya is ranked among the tallest ancient monuments in the world.

Other names for the Ruwanweli Seya are the Maha Stupa, Swarnamali Chaithiya and Rathanamali Dagoba.

The Ruwanweli Seya has a diameter of 90 metres at the base and is 92 metres (300 ft) high. The circumference is 292 metres (950 ft) high. The original stupa had been about 55 metres tall (about 180 ft), and many kings had renovated the Stupa.

Like most Sri Lankan Stupas, the Ruwanweliseya has been built like a bubble floating on water (Diya bubula).

Some relics of the Buddha are enshrined in it. King Dutugamunu has had a grand ceremony to enshrine the relics. The Thupavamsa describes it in detail.

Mulkirigala Raja Maha Viharaya

Mulkirigala Raja Maha Vihara is an ancient Buddhist temple in Mulkirigala, Sri Lanka. It has been built on a 205 m (673 ft) high natural rock, surrounded with another four rocks known as Benagala, Kondagala, Bisogala and Seelawathiegala. The temple site is located about 2 km (1.2 mi) from the Mulkirigala junction and can be reached from either Dikwella or Tangalle towns. The temple has been formally recognised by the Government as an archaeological site in Sri Lanka. The designation was declared on 8 April 1988 under the government Gazette number 501.

A large collection of paintings and sculptures belonging to the Kandyan Era can be seen in the caves and image houses in the Vihara premises. Most paintings depict the episodes from the life of the Gautama Buddha and Jataka stories, such as Vessantara, Telapatta and Shivi.
